WiPay partners with Buju Banton Foundation to empower youth

Fintech company WiPay has partnered with BujuBanton Foundation to empower 20 disenfranchised youth with colour gift cards powered by Mastercard.

Each gift card is valued at 1000 US dollars and can be used to withdraw cash at ABMs, make payments at points of sale and shop online.

The beneficiaries are all wards of the state housed at two boys homes.

WiPay's Group Chief Marketing Officer Kibwe McGann says the cards aim to empower the young men with a sense of independence and the freedom to make their own spending decisions.

The Buju Banton Foundation focuses on providing skills training and educational opportunities for youth with a particular emphasis on at risk males aged 8 to 18 years.
