Jamaica resumes exporting coffee beans to China following two month interruption

Local exports of Jamaican Coffee Beans to China have resumed after a two month interruption in coffee exports.

The Ministry of Agriculture made the announcement through the Jamaica Agricultural Commodities Regulatory Authority (JACRA).

The interruption in coffee exports to China was due to amendments made by the Chinese government to legislation governing its Customs' standards and requirements, and which effected legislative and procedural incompatibilities between Jamaica's and China's operations as trading partners.

JACRA says the disruption in September and October has not resulted in loss of revenue to the coffee sector and no resulting negative financial effect on the Jamaican economy.
