Jamaica will become the leader in agricultural innovation in the Caribbean following plans to establish of the first Inter-American Institute for Cooperation and Agriculture (IICA) Fab Lab in the country.
A Fab Lab is a state-of-the-art centre that is designed to drive research, technological adoption and creative solutions to issues affecting the agricultural sector.
This decision to establish the lab in Jamaica follows a bilateral meeting between Dr. Manuel Otero, the Director General of the Inter-American Institute and Agriculture Fisheries and Mining Minister Floyd Green at the 19th Caribbean Week of Agriculture, now on in St. Kitts and Nevis.
