Platinum Brands, the Panama-based operator of KFC and Dairy Queen, has announced plans to open twelve new KFC restaurants over the next nine months, following what it describes as one of the most successful operational turnarounds in the region.
The expansion will grow the company's KFC footprint from 46 to 58 locations, alongside its existing twenty-one Dairy Queen outlets.
Three of the new restaurants have already opened, including flagship locations in David and the province of Chiriquí, recording strong customer traffic, solid early sales and high community engagement.
Platinum Brands emerged from the acquisition of the KFC and Dairy Queen Panama operations by a Jamaican-led investment group headed by Norbrook Equity Partners.
Norbrook Equity Partners Executive Chairman Khary Robinson says the company's long-term goal is to reach one hundred restaurants by 2028, but only through disciplined and sustainable growth.
The remaining KFC openings are expected to take place across key Panamanian markets in the coming months, creating hundreds of new jobs and strengthening Platinum Brands' role in the country’s economic development.
