Virgin Atlantic Airways is to discontinue its service from London to Kingston next year.
Virgin says the decision is based on what it sees as the impending unsustainability of the route.
It says Air Jamaica's planned relaunch of a London to Kingston service and the rising cost of fuel factored heavily in the decision.
Virgin Atlantic says its last flight to Kingston from London will be on April 16, 2012.
Service from London to Montego Bay in St. James will not be affected by the decision.
