The planned demolition of a key portion of the collapsed Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore is set to begin Monday after lightning storms, forced the operation to be postponed on Sunday.
Crews plan to use explosives to break down bridge sections still covering the Dali, which crashed on March 26.
The container ship crash killed six people and sent around 4,000 tons of debris into the Patapsco river.
Authorities plan to use precision cuts with controlled detonations, to remove remnants of the bridge, which is estimated to be 500 feet long.
The ship will then be removed and returned to the Port of Baltimore.
The port has been closed since the accident.
A total of 21 crew members are still on board the Dali.
The unified command overseeing the response to the crash said last month that they would remain on the ship for the duration of its investigation.
Around 600 tons of steel and concrete have already been removed.
