Gas prices increase

Consumers will have to pay more at the pumps Thursday as the prices of four petroleum products trend upwards.

Unleaded Gasoline 87 will be increased by 97 cents to be sold for $62.50 per litre.

Unleaded gasoline 90 will also increase by 97 cents that will see it being sold for $64 per litre.

The price of automotive diesel oil is also on the rise with an increase of 74 cents.

This means it will be sold for $67 per litre.

Kerosene will cost an additional $1.18 as it will be sold for $68 per litre.

The price of LPG or cooking gas declined by 15 cents and will be sold at $35  per litre.

Petrojam said the increases in petroleum products were caused by the cost of oil reaching US$109 per barrel for oil.

The rise in oil prices is due to supply concerns arising from a European oil refinery fire.
