The Jamaica Agricultural Society says the recent rainfall has given farmers a reprieve from the drought, which was threatening food prices.
JAS President Lenworth Fulton says the prices of some vegetable items remain reasonable.
But he also told Radio Jamaica News that other crops have seen increases after being affected by drought conditions.
Mr Fulton said, in light of the impact of the drought, he was unable to say whether there was growth in the agriculture sector.
Agriculture Minister Floyd Green says food prices have been holding steady despite the recent drought affecting the island.
