The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) is investigating the cause of Friday morning's electricity disruption across several parishes.
The company says that the disruption, which occurred at 10:14 a.m., involved transient trips on the transmission network that also affected generating units.
Adverse weather conditions were being experienced at the time.
JPS says electricity supply was restored to all affected customers by 11:34 a.m.
In June, the light and power company said it had already begun preparations for the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season by fortifying its systems and enhancing its capacity to respond to severe weather events.
JPS Customer Care Area Manager, Le-Var Allen, gave the assurance during his presentation in the St. Thomas Municipal Corporation's Infrastructure and Traffic Management Committee monthly meeting.
