PM Holness announces list of 13 senators

Prime Minister Andrew Holness has announced his list of 13 senators who will take up duties in the Upper House. 
 
Among them are two new members - Natalie Campbell Rodriques and Sherene Golding.
 
The reappointed members are Tom Tavares-Finson, Kavan Gayle, Ransford Braham; Charles Sinclair, Don Wehby, Delroy Williams and Dr. Sapphire Longmore.
 
In addition, four of the senators have already been sworn in - three as Cabinet ministers and one as Minister of State.
 
They are Foreign Affairs Minister Kamina Johnson Smith; Matthew Samuda, Minister without portfolio in the Ministry of National Security; Aubyn Hill, Minister without portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation; and Leslie Campbell, State Minister in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 
 
The 21-member Senate is comprised of 13 government senators and eight opposition senators.
 
 
Swearing in Tuesday 
 
The reopening of Parliament will take place Tuesday with the swearing in of  Senators and Members of Parliament at the Jamaica Conference Centre.
 
The relocation from Gordon House is to facilitate social distancing in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
The ceremony will begin at 11 o'clock. 
 
Access will be restricted.
 
The proceedings will be broadcast live on television and the internet.
