A man listed as the prime suspect in Thursday evening's double murder of two police officers has surrendered to authorities.
Police say Macarius 'Mackie' Munroe - of Ricketts Crescent Kingston 13 - turned himself in at the Hunts Bay Police Station around 4 p.m. Friday, accompanied by a justice of the peace.
Munroe is the main suspect in the killing of Constable Charles Stewart and Constable Jemarey Gordon, who were shot dead along 83 Lane, Waltham Park Road in Kingston.
Assistant Commissioner Michael Phipps, head of the Area Four Police, is urging the other two suspects - Junior Brown of 13 Seaward Drive, Kingston 20 and Cardel 'Squidly' Insang, 91 Waltham Park Road - to report to the police by Friday evening.
"We want to further urge our responsible citizenry not to harbour these men who are wanted because this might constitute a criminal offence for which they can be prosecuted," he warned.
