St. Kitts & Nevis is marking the 40th anniversary of its political independence from Britain, with Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew outlining a new initiative aimed at revitalising the twin island Federation.
Dr. Drew described the initiative as "Independence 40 Reset," saying that this transformative programme embodies a commitment to fostering economic growth, improving living conditions, and recognising the invaluable contributions of citizens.
He said as a token of appreciation for their dedicated efforts and contributions towards nation-building, the government will be providing a one-time payment of $1,000 to contributors to the Social Security Fund.
The Independence 40 Workers' Reset bonuses will be financed through the profits generated from the island's Citizenship by Investment programme.
