The common law husband of popular dance hall
entertainer "Spice' whose real name is Grace Hamilton, was Friday charged with assault
and occasioning bodily harm after a dispute between the two last Thursday.
Nicholas Lall, 29, who appeared in the Old Harbour
Resident Magistrates court in St. Catherine, was granted bail.
He was also charged with disorderly conduct and assaulting a police officer and is scheduled to return to court on January 16 and April 17 of next year.
As part of his bail conditions he was ordered to surrender his travel documents.
The court was told that about 10 o' Clock last Thursday morning, the couple, who reside in the New Harbour housing scheme were at home when a dispute developed between Mr. Lall and Miss Hamilton.
It's reported that she was punched in the face by Mr. Lall.
The police were called and he was taken into custody.
Reports are that while at the police station he began to behave boisterously and reportedly assaulted a pregnant female officer.
He was restrained and was subsequently charged with occasioning body harm and for assaulting the police woman.
