The St. Andrew North Police seized two firearms, including a shotgun, during operations in Cashew Ridge, Jack's Hill on Boxing Day.
A 22-year-old man was arrested in one of the incidents on suspicion of possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition.
The police say the man was accosted at an unauthorised bike show.
His bag was searched and a Sig Sauer nine millimetre pistol with 26 rounds of ammunition found.
In the second operation, a team searched an area in Cashew Ridge about 4 a.m. and found a shotgun inside a white bag.
No one was arrested in connection with that seizure.
