"Chucky" Foster suffers broken legs in spill at Rocky Mountain Turf Club

Jamaican jockey Orlando 'Chucky' Foster is recuperating from surgery after breaking both legs following a nasty spill at the Rocky Mountain Turf Club at Lethbridge in Alberta, Canada last Saturday.

Foster is out for the rest of the season, following a potential career-threatening spill that resulted in a compound fracture in both legs.

Foster who began riding in Canada in 2019, had a breakout year in 2024 riding 31 winners, with earnings of over CAN $150,000.

He won his first ever jockey's title at Grand Prairie last year, for the July 6 to August 25 race meet, riding 16 winners. He's expected to out of action for around 10 months.
