The governing body of football in the region CONCACAF has announced that Qatar will be an invited team at the 2021 and 2023 editions of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
CONCACAF says this step has been taken to strengthen their relationship with the Asian Football Confederation.
Next year's 16th edition of the Gold Cup will be the first to feature an invited team since the 2005 edition of the tournament. The 2021 tournament is set to run from July 10 to August 1 next year.
The Reggae Boyz booked qualification to this tournament after winning their group in League "B" of the CONCACAF Nations League last year. Next year will be Jamaica's 12th gold cup appearance.
