Sports Minister Olivia Grange has confirmed that the new lights to boost the quality of the existing system at the National Stadium have arrived in the island.
CONCACAF recently gave the lighting at the National Stadium a failing grade, which forced the JFF to reschedule the kick off time for a recent World Cup qualifier. The game which was originally set for a 6:00 pm kick off, had to be played at 3:00 pm instead.
However, Minister Grange says there will not be a repeat of that situation as the replacement bulbs that were ordered, have finally arrived.
With calls growing louder annually for an improvement in the Stadium facilities, the minister said this is the first phase of a massive overhaul of the stadium, and the new lighting will be sufficient to host night matches.
