Llori Sharpe injured again in road accident

Voice of national cycling coach Carlton Simmonds

Top Jamaican female cyclist Llori Sharpe has been hospitalized with injuries after once again being knocked from her bicycle while training in the Bog Walk Gorge area in St Catherine on Wednesday morning.

It comes just five months after the 2024 RJRGLEANER National Sportswoman cyclist of the year sustained a fractured ankle and injured her shoulder in a separate crash, which sidelined her for nearly two months.

Despite that setback, Sharpe made a strong return to competition in October, capturing the silver medal in the women's elite individual time trial at the Caribbean Elite Road Cycling Championships in Belize.

National coach Carlton Simmonds told Radio Jamaica Sports Sharpe's suffered no serious injuries from Wednesday’s accident.
