The Jamaica Tallawahs have become the first team to win the Caribbean Premier League twice after beating the Guyana Amazon Warriors by 9 wickets in Sunday night’s final at Warner Park in St Kitts.
Chris Gayle 54 and Chadwick Walton with an unbeaten 25, shared an opening stand of 79 as the Tallawahs cruised to victory at 95-1 in 12.5 overs.
Earlier, the Amazon Warriors who were sent in to bat, were bundled out for a mere 93 in 16.1 overs. Only Sohail Tanvir with 42, offered any resistance against spinner Imad Wasim 3-21; Kenrick Williams 2-12 and Shakib al Hasan 2-25.
The winning franchise collected a winner-take-all purse of us $250,000.
