Trainer Dwight Chen landed both sections of the Eight Thirty Sprint event on Saturday's 11 race programme at Caymanas Park. Chen captured section 1 of the event which was a maiden special weight contest for native bred 3 year old fillies over 5 furlongs straight courtesy of the 7-2 chance Earth Angel under jockey Arthur Budhu.
Chen returned for section 2 with the 1-9 favourite Marlene My Love under 3 time former champion jockey Dane Nelson who had to work hard to get the better of Adoring Lady with apprentice Andre Powell in a close contest.
Meanwhile, the Allan E ‘Billy’ Williams Memorial Trophy" for Overnight Allowance horses over 7 furlongs, saw the Wayne DaCosta-trained Royal Vibes under Jevanne Erwin, prevailing in a driving finish over Time For Arms.
The win provided Erwin with a double on the card while there was also a double for trainer Errol Waugh. Racing continues on Wednesday.
