Classic aspirants continue build-up at Caymanas Park

Native-bred three year olds continue their build-up to the classic campaign at Caymanas Park tomorrow with as many as 26 slated to be in action on the 11 race programme.

Last year's champion 2 year old Sotomayorwith apprentice Linton Steadman riding for trainer Anthony ‘Baba’ Nunes, is the 6-5 morning line favourite for the Overnight Allowance contest over 7-and-a-half furlongs.

Wayne DaCosta's Fearless Samurai will take Omar Walker to the post in the opening event, a restricted stakes contest over a mile for which he's the 1-5 morning line favourite. Races 4 and 7, a divided maiden special weight, will also give the classic aspirants good warm-up opportunity.

The programme will also feature the Graded Stakes Eileen Cliggott Memorial Trophy over 6-and-a-half furlongs with the Robert Halledeen mount Campesino being the favourite in the field of six. First post is 12:15 pm and live coverage will be on TVJ Sports Network and Hitz 92 FM.
