For the first time in decades, the Miss Universe Jamaica (MUJ) pageant will not be a live show.
The changed format comes amid the continued spread of the coronavirus in Jamaica.
MUJ directors Mark McDermott and Karl Williams selected 17 girls in the semi-final round of the competition which was held at the R Hotel in New Kingston on Saturday.
A final challenge will be held on November 1, where the top 10 finalists will be decided.
The girls will then be presented at a virtual sashing on November 5 with the grand finals scheduled for November 28.
Jamaica's Yendi Phillips, Kaci Fennell and Davina Bennett were top five finalists and fan favourites in their respective competitions.
