A Cuban man was shot dead on the compound of the Red Cross in Central Village, St. Catherine, Tuesday afternoon.
It is understood that shortly after 1:00 p.m., a man went on the compound of the Red Cross and opened fire on the Cuban.
The 30-year-old victim was pronounced dead at hospital.
It is understood that the police are searching for a suspect who goes by the alias Coolie. He is said to be an area leader from the nearby community of Little Lane.
The Cuban was among several staying at the Red Cross facility after arriving on the island illegally by boat.
