A Jamaican has been placed on the U.S. Marshals 15 Most Wanted Fugitives list.
An intense search is on for 38 year old Leroy Headley for allegedly killing the mother of his two children in South Burlington, Vermont.
Anako Lumumba, 33, was shot on May 3, 2018.
According to a statement posted Monday on the US Marshals website, one of Headley's family members contacted police, reporting a call from the suspect about the killing.
When authorities arrived at the residence, they found Miss Lumumba dead from a gunshot wound to the head.
Authorities believe that, after the crime, the Jamaican fled to Albany, New York, where he abandoned his vehicle.
Headley is said to have ties in Westmoreland, Jamaica, where he was born, as well as Las Vegas, parts of Massachusetts and Florida.
A reward of up to US$25,000 is being offered by U.S. Marshals for information leading to his arrest.
