Several local law enforcement agencies have received additional training tools to fight financial crimes.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force, Jamaica Customs Agency, Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency, and the Financial Investigations Division have been provided with new training resources.
These include videos and printed material.
These tools were developed with the support of the Serious Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Programme of the UK's Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office and produced by the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) Section of the US Embassy in Kingston.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey says the tools will greatly assist in the fight against transnational organised crime.
"We have been engaged in a number of investigations targeting criminal networks, but until we are able to take the proceeds from the organisation, then our effort will be actually minimised. And so I want to congratulate and say thanks to INL for creating this video, or facilitating this video, that will enhance the capacity of the men and women of the JCF and all the other investigative bodies," he declared.
