One of the five men linked to the Haughton Gang in Westmoreland is now in police custody. Junior Bennett, who was being sought by investigators, surrendered to the Savanna-la-Mar Police about 1:00 o'clock Thursday afternoon. The other four men, all from Westmoreland, include the leader of the Haughton Gang, Torniel Haughton; Jermaine Brown; Marlon Samuels and Eugene Douglas.
The police say the men are wanted in connection with several murders and robberies, as well as illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
Last month, the police named Mr. Haughton as a person of interest in connection with several murders committed in Westmoreland.
Investigators claim the Haughton Gang is responsible for more than 50 per cent of major crimes in the parish.
