New hand held web access device for Jamaica

A United States (US) company and a Canadian-based developer have teamed up to bring a new high-speed internet access device to the Jamaican market.

Edgetech International in Florida, has struck a new agreement with Datawind in Canada, to exclusively distribute in Jamaica, 'The PC Edge'.

This is a hand-held wireless internet access device which delivers high-speed internet access, displays full content HTML, web pages, graphics and java script.  

In a statement, Edgetech CEO, Lev Parnas said the sales and marketing efforts of 'The PC Edge' will be presented to a potential distribution channel with millions of subscribers.

He added that the company would be fully exploring new revenue opportunities which will be made available as a result of the development.

The company has set its sights on national and regional cellular carriers, Internet service providers, cable companies as well as national and regional telecommunications providers.
