The National Health Fund (NHF) has increased the subsidies on more than 800 items on its Individual Benefits List.
A statement from the Fund Tuesday night said the list of items, including pharmaceuticals and supplies, has been revised to improve the average subsidy rates.
Hugh Lawson, the Chief Executive Officer of the NHF, said the adjustment to the subsidies will cost the Fund $300 million this financial year.
The list of revised drug subsidies has been posted on the NHF's website.
All residents of Jamaica regardless of age, income or health status, suffering from any of the 15 chronic diseases covered by the Health Fund are eligible to enrol for benefits.
There are about 268,000 persons enrolled with the NHF.
The 15 diseases covered by the NHF are: arthritis, asthma, breast cancer, prostate cancer, diabetes, epilepsy, enlarged prostate, major depression and psychosis.
Other diseases on the list are glaucoma, high cholesterol, hypertension and some types of heart disease.
