One arrested in connection with cop’s murder

  The Clarendon Police have made a breakthrough in the case of Constable Fidel Beckford who was murdered in Toll Gate last month.

Deputy Superintendent of police in charge of operations for Clarendon, Patrick Murdock, said one man has been arrested in connection with the killing.

He 23-year-old Cecil Campbell also called ‘Ben' of a Western Park address in May Pen.

Superintendent Murdock said the police are still pursuing several leads.

On October 28th, Constable Beckford was among a group of persons standing at a shop in Toll Gate when a car drove up.

One of the occupants opened fire hitting the Constable who died on the spot.
