Prime Minister Andrew Holness has asked his Cabinet ministers who were seen at a recent album launch without masks to pay a fine of $100,000 each.

The money should go towards a charity or help with the defence of individuals charged with breaching the Disaster Risk Management Act (DRMA).

Addressing the issue in the House of Representatives on Thursday afternoon, Mr. Holness joked that the politicians were "star-struck and forgot their senses".

He asked Culture and Entertainment Minister Olivia Grange – who had also attended the event but had worn a mask – to collect the money.

Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton, Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke and Minister without portfolio Floyd Green were among members of the government seen without masks at the album launch event for dancehall artiste Shenseea.
