Project Restoration provides eight Westmoreland families with new houses in time for Christmas

Eight Westmoreland families, displaced by Hurricane Melissa, were able to sped Christmas in their own homes following the intervention of Project Restoration.

Project Restoration is a Jamaica based not for profit initiative involving ISSA Construction, aimed at rebuilding homes devastated by Hurricane Mellissa.

These eight families are among 10 that were identified for assistance after their houses were destroyed during the passage of the hurricane on October 28.

Arrianne Williams of Project Restoration explained that she was inspired to act, based on the devastation she witnessed when she went to Westmoreland to distribute much needed supplies.

Miss Williams said she forged a partnership with ISSA Construction to rebuild the homes before the end of the year.

She disclosed that it was the sight of a crib in a destroyed house that propelled her into action.

She’s also calling for action to rebuild structures across the parishes hardest hit.
