Puerto Rico records two additional cases of monkeypox

The Puerto Rico Department of Health reported two additional cases of monkeypox on the island, increasing to 13 the total number of people infected by this virus in the Caribbean territory.

The report said one of the two infected people has a travel history and is between 20 and 35 years of age, and the other is between 36 and 50 years of age.

The health department said of the thirteen confirmed cases, twelve are residents of Puerto Rico, and the remaining one is a visitor. 

The health agency also reported that 61.5% of the cases had a travel history in the past 21 days.
