UHWI now using tele-triage system

The University Hospital of  the West Indies (UHWI) has implemented its tele-triage system in the Emergency Medicine Division.

Persons who have been exposed and have symptoms of  COVID-19 are being advised to call 876-541-1043 or 876-541-1044 ahead of  going to the Emergency Medicine Division.

They're also being told to be prepared to give details of symptoms, exposure and travel history.

The UHWI noted that tele-triage platforms have been used in other hospitals across the globe and helped to reduce wait time and improve emergency department efficiency.
