2019 CPL dates pushed back

The dates for the 2019 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) has been pushed back to avoid a clash with the West Indies' test, ODI and T20 International home series against India. The competition will now take place from September 4 to October 12, 2019.

It’s understood that the CPL and Cricket West Indies agreed to  move the window for the 2019 tournament. In a statement, the CPL said moving the tournament would give the best possible chance for all players to take part in the Caribbean Premier League and the series against India.

But interestingly, it's understood the request for the international matches to be moved came from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) which meant that the West Indies international players would otherwise no longer be available for the tournament.

The full schedule of matches will be released in due course with matches already confirmed for Barbados, Jamaica, St Kitts & Nevis, St Lucia and Trinidad & Tobago.
