Chelsea F.C. blanked Barclay's Premier League leaders Liverpool F.C. 2-0 at Anfield on Sunday, to close to within two points and ensure the premiership will go right down to the wire with two rounds of matches to go.
Although fielding a less than powerful team due to injuries and an impending Champions league match in mid week, Chelsea went to Anfield and stole the three points to ensure the top three teams will play hard and compelling soccer over the next two weeks.
This because Manchester City closed to within three points of Liverpool after beating Crystal Palace 2-0 also on Sunday.
The points standings featuring the big three are:
1) Liverpool 80
2) Chelsea 78
3) Manchester City 77
Crucially, Manchester City has a match in hand.
