Coley interested in Reggae Boyz interim coaching job

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Spencer Darlington

Former national assistant coach Miguel Coley has once again thrown his hat into the ring to be the next head coach of the Reggae Boyz. Coley served as Reggae Boyz assistant coach under former head coach Winfried Schäfer from 2014 to 2016 before moving to the Asian continent where he has been plying his trade for the past seven years.

The 42 year old Coley now serves as the reserve team head coach at Umm Salal in Qatar and he told Radio Jamaica Sports on Thursday he's ready to take the reins as Reggae Boyz head coach, even beyond an interim basis.

In the meantime, football analyst Andrew Price says the JFF should look no further than former head coach Theodore “Tappa” Whitmore or former assistant Miguel Coley for the interim role.

Another analyst, Oneil “1878” Meredith, has suggested current technical advisor Rudolph Speid or current assistant Merron Gordon for the position. A reliable source told Radio Jamaica Sports the JFF will look to have an interim head coach in place by sometime next week.
