RJR Sports understands that UWI FC coach Marcel Gayle has come up for mention as Waterhouse FC puts together a list of potential replacements for Donnovan Dukie who has departed as the team’s head coach. However, sources believe a move for the former Waterhouse assistant coach might not be possible as he is believed to be happy at his current club.
Dukie who led Waterhouse to last season's Red Stripe Premier League final, started out as a consultant for newly-promoted club Mount Pleasant Academy, was promoted to the head coaching role at the St Ann-based club on Wednesday. The appointment was made via a post on the team's facebook page along with a picture of Duckie receiving a Mount Pleasant cap from owner Peter Gould.
Along with the picture, a caption that read: "no need to ask anymore questions, coach Donovan Duckie has put pen to paper and is now head coach of #stushhh...help us welcome the man himself as he guides Mount Pleasant Football Academy into the #rspl".
The post made no mention of former head coach Paul 'Tegat' Davis who led the team through the Premier League playoffs and to promotion for next season’s top flight.
