Greenwood’s status unclear ahead of Reggae Boyz squad announcement

Voice of JFF president Michael Ricketts

By Kayon Raynor

There’s still no confirmation on whether forward Mason Greenwood will be included in Jamaica’s squad, as Reggae Boyz head coach Steve McClaren prepares to name his team in two days’ time for their CONCACAF final-round World Cup qualifier against Curaçao.

Greenwood received his Jamaican passport ahead of last month’s qualifiers against Bermuda and Trinidad and Tobago, but was left out of both matches.

His international future remains uncertain. The 23-year-old, eligible through Jamaican heritage, has yet to make a senior appearance for the Reggae Boyz despite mounting speculation over his potential commitment.

The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) is expected to announce the official squad later this week.
