Jackson wins her first 100m of the season at Rabat Diamond League

2-time defending world 200 metre champion Shericka Jackson was victorious in her first 100 metre race of the season after recording a solid victory at the Rabat Diamond League meet in Morocco on Sunday.

The 30 year old Jackson was slow out of the blocks but found her grove in the latter stages of the race for a comfortable victory in 11.04 seconds. She finished ahead of Liberia's Maia McCoy 11.08 and American Jacious Sears 11.11 seconds, rounding out the podium.

Andrenette Knight was the other Jamaican with a top three finish on the track, as she placed second in the women's 400 metre hurdles. Knight clocked a season's best 53.90 seconds, with the event going to Femke Bol of the Netherlands in a meet record 52.96 seconds.

In the field, national record holder and Olympic bronze medallist Rajindra Campbell secured second place in the men's shot put, with a season's best 21.95 metres.

Payton Otterdahl of the us  won the event with a world leading 21.97 metres. The next meet in the Diamond League series is set for Rome on June 6.
