Legacy Isle wins None Such Sprint Trophy

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Spencer Darlington

The 3-5 favourite Legacy Isle with champion jockey Raddesh Roman aboard for trainer Rohan Crichton, recorded a comfortable victory in Saturday's feature None Such Sprint Trophy over 6 furlongs at Caymanas Park.

Legacy Isle and Pack Playswent about setting the fractions in the small field of four Graded Stakes and Open Allowance contestants before last year's Mouttet Mile runner-up took command off the final bend.

The 5 year old American-bred bay horse covered the distance in a minute, 12 seconds flat after splits of 22.4 and 46.2 to win by three and three quarter lengths, his 4th victory on local soil.

The win closed out a double for Roman on the programme where apprentice Demar Williams also had two wins.

Racing continues on Sunday with a 9-race card starting at 12:15 pm.
