Omar McFarlane resigns as JFF Operations Manager

Omar McFarlane has resigned as Operations Manager of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) due to financial difficulties being experienced by the federation and will return to his previous role as Global Youth Ambassador.

Responding to questions from Radio Jamaica Sports, McFarlane said the federation is facing a tough financial period following the unsuccessful World Cup qualifying campaign, and that restructuring is necessary. He said the decision was made jointly with the federation and is intended to support the reorganization process.

McFarlane noted that through his businesses, he has contributed $30 million Jamaican to football over the past two years and will now focus more on grassroots development across schools, parishes and communities.

McFarlane also revealed that the Yo Sports & Art Foundation, which he started along with his wife, plans to roll out 12 projects over the next 12 months supporting youth football, referee development and arts initiatives across the island.

Neither JFF president Michael Ricketts nor General Secretary Gregory Daley have responded to queries from Radio Jamaica Sports about McFarlane's resignation.
