National cyclist Marloe Rodman is well on the way to charting a new career in sports following a 2017 vehicular crash. The incident brought a crashing halt to Rodman's Olympic dreams as he lost the function in one arm.
But instead of being daunted he is now mapping a course in para cycling, as he's not able to compete with able bodied athletes due to the damage he sustained to his left hand.
After not riding for a year, Rodman was inspired to take up para sport by president of the Jamaica Cycling Federation, Dr Wayne Palmer.
As for the accident, the former Caribbean elite road race champion was slapped with four charges, including manslaughter. Rodman says his reputation was also damaged as some of the reports in the public space are false.
He’s set to return to court on May 12 of this year.
