There’s a call for transparency this evening from the president of the Jamaica Cricket Umpires Association (JCUA) Athol Hamilton, given the imminent removal of Patrick Gustard from the international umpires panel.

Trinidad & Tobago's Joel Wilson is the only West Indian on the ICC Elite Panel of international umpires which has 12 members.

Below that level is an international panel where each test playing nation has four umpires on the panel.

For the West Indies, Gutsard, Barbadians Gregory Brathwaite and Leslie Reifer as well as Guyanese Nigel Duguid are the officials on the list.

However, based on Radio Jamaica Sports sources, Jamaican Gustard and Duguid are in line to be removed from the panel for the next year. The contract period ends on September 30, with the new panel to be named on October 1.
