Wilks suspended from JFF's Technical Committee

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Kayon Raynor

The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) on Monday suspended Denzil Wilks as a member of its Technical Committee.

According to impeccable Radio Jamaica Sports sources, the suspension comes after Wilks criticized the JFF's  handling of the non-renewal of former Reggae Girlz head coach Lorne Donaldson's contract during an interview on Hitz 92 FM’s Sports Grill on Friday.

Wilks, who arrived five minutes late to the meeting between Donaldson and JFF general secretary Dennis Chung to learn that the coach's contract was not renewed, later questioned whether natural justice was followed.

When contacted by phone on Monday, Chung declined to comment on the development.

A source with knowledge of the matter, who declined to be named, indicated that the JFF believes Wilks' public utterances against the organization, was seen as a compromise of his objectivity to make decisions on the  technical committee.
