Windies facing uphill task entering day 3 of first test against India

West Indies bowling coach Ravi Rampaul has commended his bowlers despite tough day which saw host India take firm control of the second test in Ahmedabad. India  are set to resume day 3 on 448-5 in their first innings reply, a lead of 286 runs. 

Ravindra Jadeja will return to the crease on 104, while Washington Sundar will resume on 6. On Friday, Jadeja shared a 206 run 5th wicket partnership with Dhruv Jurel who made 125, his maiden test ton. Earlier, KL Rahul who resumed on 53 carried on to an even 100.

He shared a 98 run third wicket partnership with fellow overnight batsman, captain Shubman Gill who made an even 50 after resuming on 18.

Captain Roston Chase has so far taken 2-90, while Jayden Seales, Jomel Warrican and debutant Khary Pierre have taken a wicket each. Play on day 3 resumes at 11:00 pm Friday night, Jamaica time.
