Opposition Leader Mark Golding is again taking issue with the lack of certification of the Prime Minister's statutory declaration.

In a report tabled in Parliament last year, the Integrity Commission indicated that it was unable to certify the Prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness's declarations for 2022 and 2023.

The Prime Minister was granted permission by the Supreme Court to challenge the Integrity Commission's investigation report into his financial affairs.

Mr Holness has claimed the report is"unlawful" and "unfair."

Mr Golding, speaking in House of Representatives on Tuesday, said the situation was indefensible.

Declaring that "The Opposition and the wider society remain very concerned about the Prime Minister's situation," he declared that "the report contains findings which the Opposition and many Jamaicans find troubling."

"This is an untenable situation and it goes to the heart of governance in the country," he declared.

"Given that the Prime Minister has clearly decided to ride this out and lead his party into the upcoming general elections, Jamaicans will use that opportunity of those elections to decide whether to allow this highly undesirable state of affairs to continue," he predicted.
