NLA to use drone technology in land registration process

The National Land Agency (NLA) is considering the use of  drone technology to increase land registration.

Milton Saunders, Mapping Services Manager at the NLA, has highlighted the benefit of drone technology in bringing greater efficiencies in the creation of  cadastral maps and speed up the turnaround time where titling is concerned.

In an interview with JIS News, Mr. Saunders said the NLA's use of  drone technology has made it easier to conduct surveys for the creation of  maps, explaining that cadastral maps in particular  show the legal boundaries of  properties, a major factor in the agency's land-titling efforts.

Tests were carried out by the land agency using drones to survey and capture images of  properties for which cadastral maps were subsequently developed.
