Anthony James, a resident of Paradise in St. James

Several women and children were removed from the compound of the Qahal Yahweh religious group in Paradise, Montego Bay, St. James during an operation this morning.
The operation is being conducted by the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) in conjunction with the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA), the police and Jamaica Defence Force.
It is ongoing.
It's not clear what intelligence led to this morning's operation.
In 2019, the security forces were met with resistance as they attempted to remove children from the property during a raid.
This followed reports of child abuse and young girls purportedly being married to grown men.
During the heated stand-off between members of the St. James police and worshippers, the leader of the church was taken into custody and three children removed from the compound.
Speaking with Radio Jamaica News this morning, a resident, Anthony James, said he and others in the Paradise community are upset that operations were allowed to continue at the location following the 2019 standoff.
