Carol Sharpe, sister of Michael Sharpe
There were many heart felt tributes on Wednesday at the virtual remembrance service for senior journalist and broadcaster Michael Sharpe.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness, Opposition Leader Mark Golding, friends and media colleagues were among those who reminisced on the life and work of Mr. Sharpe, who died a week ago at the age of 65.
Many echoed sentiments of his excellent work ethic, generosity and willingness to share his knowledge and expertise to uplift younger professionals.
His sister, Carol Sharpe, shared fond memories of her brother, recalling "his ability to communicate with all, everyone, no matter your walk of life."
"He was so gifted, and boy did he love to sings! And he had a really good voice," she boasted.
She also remembered him as a "great tourism ambassador" as he would plan trips for the family or friends who visited the island.
"Coming to Jamaica on vacation, he would pick us up at the airport. He would take his vacation to be with us and he did everything for us...He would plan trips, get a bus to go to Little Ochi, get a bus to take us to Dunn's River, just year after year."
