Campbell scores century as Scorpions pile up runs against WI Academy

Captain John Campbell scored his second century of the regional 4-day championship, as Jamaica Scorpions batters had a feast on the opening day of their 5th round game against the West Indies Academy at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua.

Campbell who missed the Scorpions’ 214 run defeat to defending champions Guyana Harpy Eagles at the weekend due to injury, returned to score 101 off 126 deliveries, as the Jamaican franchise reached stumps at 332-7.

Javelle Glenn also scored his maiden regional half-century on his way to 68, while all-rounder Odean Smith got 51.

Jermaine Blackwood also made 31. Brad Barnes 44 and Jeavor Royal 4, are the batters at the crease. Akeem Auguste has so far taken 2-45, while Jediah Blades picked up 2-46.
